MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
The next generation of female leaders is here. It’s time to inspire emerging careers!
2024 Mentorship Program matches will be announced in mid-January

This program is at the center of Women in Wine’s mission of fermenting change for women in the wine industry. Our goal is to accelerate and advance women's careers by creating diverse professional networks. We believe that by providing greater exposure to senior wine leaders allows less experienced women an opportunity to gain increased visibility, help them to build skills and increase their knowledge base.

If you’re looking for guidance as you navigate your career, apply to be a mentee. If you are a professional ready to share your knowledge, we encourage you to apply as a mentor. Limited spaces available.

Requirements of the Program:
All participants must be Women in Wine members and apply online by December 8, 2023 to be considered for the program - become a member. Scholarships and payment plans available.

The program matches 20 pairs of professionals and runs over a 6-month period, with the expectation of meeting 1-2 hours per month, either in-person, over the phone, or on Zoom. It is the responsibility of the mentee to set up each meeting and work around the mentor's schedule.

Evaluations must be completed at the end of the partnership by both Mentors and Mentees to ensure continuous improvement of the program.

Timeline:
The 2024 Program starts in February and ends July, culminating in a celebration of that class of mentors and mentees.

Applications Open- November 13, 2023
Applications Close- December 15, 2023
Matches Announced- mid January, 2024
Program Launches- February 1, 2024

What to Expect:
Mentors and Mentees are matched up based on several factors including area of interest, skill set, career paths and character. Guidance will be provided to all pairs before the first meeting including templates for agreements, agendas, discussion topics, etc. Each match will be assigned a Mentorship Coach who will provide support and resources as necessary. All communication will be kept confidential.

Mentees drive the partnership by professionally participating in the meetings with prepared agendas, questions and purpose. The Mentees benefit by having an experienced person guide them on their career path, build their confidence and network, supply practical tools and resources, and learn keys to success in a professional setting within the wine industry.

Mentors will offer guidance, ideas, tools, resources, and connections. The Mentors will benefit by honing their leadership and coaching skills, learning the point of view and professional needs of individuals at varying stages of their career, building their network and gaining the satisfaction of helping others and strengthening the industry.

The aim is for both Mentors and Mentees to find the experience personally and
professionally valuable. For the program and match to be successful, both parties must fully commit to the program.

What our past cohorts are saying:

"I have done several mentorship programs and this was by far the best I have experienced! I love the one-on-one interaction with Jessica from Et Fille. It was so much better than expected!"

"This program was a great experience for me! I appreciated meeting new people and getting perspective on career questions I encountered."

“I had such a great experience as a mentor! And my mentee accomplished her goal of earning her WSET2.” -Andrea Jacoby, 2023 Mentor
“I love this mentorship program…the main thing I learned is: ask more questions and ask often. Being new in the industry, I had a lot of questions. I’m so grateful for the mentorship.” -Keri Bailey, 2023 Mentee
“It was awesome! My mentee is a beautiful human being, inside and out. She is motivated, smart and focused. She has taught me as much as I taught her. We have grown a fun friendship and see and support one another immensely. It has been a fantastic experience overall. My mentee is the best and I am so proud of her achievements since I’ve met her and know she will be a stand out person in the wine industry!” -Isabelle Truchon, 2023 Mentor
